Glacier Bay | Gustavus | Alaska Sightseeing Toure.  In den vier Bergketten die die Glacier Bay umgeben liegen über 100 Gletscher. Der höchste Punkt im Park liegt an der Flanke des 4663 Meter hohen Mount Fairweather, dessen Gipfel jedoch auf kanadischer Seite außerhalb der Parkgrenzen liegt. Wölfe, Braunbären, Schwarzbären und Schneeziegen sind charakteristische Großtierarten des Nationalparks. In den Küstengewässern sind auch zahlreiche marine Säuger wie Killerwale, Buckelwale, Grauwale, Seeotter, Seehunde und Stellersche Seelöwen anzutreffen. Das Gebiet ist darüber hinaus eine der wenigen Stellen, an der der vom Aussterben bedrohte Kurzschnabelalk noch vorkommt.

Spend the day on the waters of Glacier Bay and see magnificent tidewater glaciers, ancient snow-capped mountains, whales, stellar sea lions, rare birds, coastal bears, seals, eagles, and so much more! This tour is the only scheduled day tour permitted inside Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve. The Glacier Bay Day Cruise  takes you on a comfortable, heated, high-speed catamaran ride for an intimate view of marine and coastal wildlife, alongside massive glaciers, and towering mountains. Your journey takes you to the face of the Margerie and Grand Pacific Glaciers, two of the many tidewater glaciers found in the National Park. This 8-hour tour is narrated by a National Park Service Ranger, who is available to answer all your questions. Lunch, beverage, and souvenir are included in the price of your tour. GBP11 Point Adolphus Whale Watching

Note: Tour availability only with other arrangements. Enjoy a relaxing evening on the waters of Icy Strait, just outside of Glacier Bay National Park on the M/V TAZ, a 50’ long vessel with seating for 23 passengers and an open back deck for viewing and photography of the whales and wildlife. Depart from the Gustavus City dock which is approximately 9 miles from Glacier Bay Lodge and head out to Pt. Adolphus, a nutrient-rich feeding ground for several types of whales, including humpbacks, which summer in Alaska to feed before migrating back to Hawaii for the winter. Complimentary hot drinks including coffee, a wide variety of teas, hot chocolate, water, and snack bars.


GBP13 Glacier Bay Kayak Tour

A great way to experience Glacier Bay on a much more intimate scale. Learn kayaking basics from your experienced guide, set out in your stable, two-person boat with your guide and small group to paddle the waters of Bartlett Cove and the Beardslee Islands. Kayak, gear and instruction are included. Total: 6 hours
